Medication Assisted Treatment Open House
Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County’s Addiction Services program is hosting an Open House for its new Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program for opioid use disorder on Friday, November 3 at 2:00 pm. In conjunction with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, the inter-disciplinary team at Addiction Services offers an innovative approach using the 12-Step recovery program with medications to support recovery, individual and group counseling, community support meetings, and case management services. The program has proven to be effective to achieve freedom from addiction and a path to lifelong recovery.
Currently, Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County’s Addiction Services is the only recovery program offering this type of treatment in the state of Ohio. “The expansion of recovery options is critical to reducing the number of accidental overdose deaths in Montgomery County,” said Jeff Cooper, Health Commissioner, Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County. “We are excited to be partnering with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation on this innovative approach to the recovery process.”
The event will feature tours of the just completed addition to the Addiction Services facility at Elizabeth Place and a preview of what makes the MAT program so effective.
