Baby & Me - Tobacco Free The Baby & Me - Tobacco Free Program is a smoking cessation program which aims to reduce the use of tobacco products among women during and after their pregnancy. 937-496-3376
Birth & Death Records For your convenience, you can process online requests through VitalChek, an independent company that Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County has partnered with to provide this service. 937-496-3114
CarePoint: Syringe Services Program The goal of CarePoint is to play a role in reducing the transmission of HIV, Hepatitis C and other blood-borne infections associated with the sharing of drug injection equipment. CarePoint provides a one-to-one syringe exchange program and linkage to addiction services. 937-496-7133
Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County partners with the Ohio Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (OHHLPPP) to provide public education, public health lead investigations, and case management to lead poisoned children in Montgomery County. 937-225-5553
Children with Special Healthcare Needs The Children with Special Healthcare Needs (CMH) Program provides case management and service coordination for families with children who have special health care needs and are residents of Ohio. 937-225-6459
Communicable Disease Reporting The Communicable Disease Reporting Program monitors the occurrence of contagious illnesses within Montgomery County. Our team gathers reports of diseases in the community, interviews people with disease, and conducts follow-up investigations to determine the source of infection. 937-225-4508
Community Health Outreach The Community Health Outreach Program is a team of health professionals including registered nurses and community health advocates. 937-225-5700
Construction and Demolition Debris The Construction and Demolition Debris Program inspects all open and closed construction and demolition debris landfills within Montgomery County to ensure that disposal is protective of the environment and the public’s health. 937-225-4362
Cribs for Kids! According to the Ohio American Academy of Pediatrics, 3 infants die each week in Ohio in unsafe sleep areas. Cribs for Kids seeks to reduce that number by providing WIC-eligible families and expecting mothers with a free pack ‘n play for their baby. Families will also receive important information about the ABCs of safe sleep so they can reduce their baby’s risk of a sleep-related death. 937-496-6831
Diabetes Self-Management Education Program The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program provides persons 18 years or older, who are living with diabetes, the tools they need to successfully control their diabetes and prevent the complications of diabetes. The program includes both self-management and group educational sessions. 937-225-5878
Emergency Preparedness The Emergency Preparedness Department is tasked with preparing Public Health, its partners and the community to respond to adverse events that affects the public’s health in our community. 937-225-5714

Fetal & Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Infant mortality continues to be a significant problem for Montgomery County families. The best way to learn how to address the many issues facing these families is to learn from these families directly. This program gives families the opportunity to share their story of infant loss or stillbirth so our community can learn from their experiences and prevent other losses like these from happening. 937-225-6355
Food Protection The Food Protection Program supervises the licensing and inspection of all restaurants, grocery stores, vending machines, mobile food operations, and temporary food operations. 937-225-4460
Food Service Inspections Food Service Sanitarians inspect licensed food service operators and retail food establishments for proper food storage, handling, preparation and serving. 937-225-4460
Food Service Plan Review Public Health works hand in hand with local building and other inspection authorities to ensure that all applicable codes are met. 937-225-6150
HIV/AIDS Prevention The HIV/AIDS Prevention Programs concentrate on reducing transmission in Butler, Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties. Free anonymous and confidential HIV testing is provided. 937-496-7133
Home Care The Home Care Program is a Medicare certified program that provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, pediatric physical therapy, speech therapy, social work and nutritional services to patients in Montgomery County. 937-496-7133
Immunization Clinic Public Health's Immunization Clinic provides routine vaccines for infants, children, teens, and adults. Vaccines are also available to international travelers, those with occupational risk, medical indications, and for post-exposure disease control efforts. 937-225-4550
LGBTQ Health Initiatives LGBTQ Health Initiatives in the Office of Health Services which focuses on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community (LGBTQ). 937-224-3727
Local Office of Minority Health The Local Office of Minority Health The Dayton & Montgomery County Local Office of Minority Health is a program funded by a grant from the Ohio Commission on Minority Health, in partnership with Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County. 937-225-4962
Moms & Babies First Moms & Babies First: Ohio’s Black Infant Vitality Program helps to reduce the number of low birth weight babies, infant deaths and sickness within the ethnic communities of Montgomery County. We also offer an education support group for expectant and new fathers, as well as experienced fathers. 937-224-3696
Mosquito and Vector Disease Control The Mosquito and Vector Disease Control program protects Montgomery County from mosquito-borne diseases. Through regular trapping and species identification, the local mosquito population is monitored, tested, and controlled. 937-225-4362
Nuisance Abatement The Nuisance Abatement Program investigates conditions such as trash, rodents, abandoned pools, and unsanitary conditions at residential property in unincorporated areas of Montgomery County. 937-225-4362
Other Inspection Services Environmental Health provides inspection services to help ensure the public's health. In addition to food service establishments and new and remodeled plumbing projects, we inspect body art establishments, hotels and motels, school buildings, and swimming pools and spas. 937-225-4460
Plumbing Inspection Plumbing Inspection ensures that all plumbing installed during construction of a new or renovated building is installed by knowledgeable craftsmen in accordance with applicable codes. Properly installed plumbing systems protect the public’s health. 937-225-4421
Private Water System and Household Sewage Treatment System The Private Water System and Household Sewage Treatment System Program ensures that septic systems and private wells are designed and installed under permit and in accordance with state and local regulations. 937-225-4428
Rabies Control The Rabies Control Program quarantines dogs, cats, and ferrets involved in biting incidents to ensure that the animal did not transmit rabies to the bite victim. 937-225-4362
Regional Air Pollution Control Agency RAPCA is the air pollution agency for the Metropolitan Dayton Intrastate Air Quality Control Region in west-central Ohio which includes Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties 937-225-4435
Research Review Panel Ensure that Public Health staff are active collaborators on all proposals initiated by external researchers, where appropriate. 937-225-4479
School Health Services School Health Services are provided to private, parochial and charter schools in Montgomery County. Schools may contract for a school nurse on a part-time or full-time basis or one-time only to perform mandatory screenings. 937-225-4514
Smoke-Free Workplace Ohio’s Smoke-Free Workplace Program ensures that all work environments in the state are completely smoke-free. Public Health responds to complaints directed to 1-866-559-OHIO regarding smoking in any workplace in the county. 937-225-4460
Solid and Infectious Waste The Solid and Infectious Waste Program ensures that waste materials are disposed of in compliance with state regulation and in a manner that is protective of the public’s health and the environment. 937-225-4362
Source Water Protection The Source Water Protection Program prevents increased risk to the public water supply by regulating the quantity and use of chemicals by businesses located in the Multi-Jurisdictional Source Water Protection Area. 937-225-4362
Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic Public Health’s Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic provides patient evaluation, laboratory testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. HIV testing, including rapid testing, is also available. The Public Health STD Lab supports the clinic by providing quick results. 937-225-4550
Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Public Health partners with worksites, schools, and community organizations to offer free tobacco cessation for residents of Montgomery County; and participants receive a one-month supply of patches. The program includes telephonic or group cessation sessions. 937-225-5700
Tuberculosis Clinic Public Health's Tuberculosis (TB) Program controls the spread of TB in Montgomery County. We ensure all persons with active TB are completely treated, and we work with community partners to screen individuals who are at high risk. 937-225-4550
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Public Health's WIC Program safeguards the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5. WIC provides nutritious foods to supplement diets, nutrition education (including breastfeeding promotion and support), and referrals to health and other social services. 937-225-4491
