Every Baby Matters Health Fair

September 14, 2016

Learn about infant mortality and the importance of a healthy lifestyle at the free “Every Baby Matters!” event presented by Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County.

Every Baby Matters!
Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church
1501 W. Third St. – Dayton

Infant Mortality is the key long-term indicator for birth outcomes as well as for overall community health and well-being. According to Montgomery County 2005-2014 data, Black babies die at more than two times the rate of white babies. This fun and educational event seeks to educate parents on the factors that contribute to this disparity.

Experts will be on hand to discuss topics such as postpartum depression, infant CPR and newborn care. The first 30 attendees will receive gift cards. Activities for children, free HIV testing, door prizes, lunch and more will be offered.

The event is part of the Ohio Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative which funds programs to provide community-based outreach and care coordination services in targeted zip codes with high-risk, low-income African American pregnant women and families.
