LGBTQ Youth Summit to Educate Professionals Serving Youth

The LGTBQ Health Alliance presents “Supporting LGBTQ Youth” a two-day training session for professionals who serve youth on November 4 & 5 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Dayton Metro Library.

Attendees will receive comprehensive LGBTQ youth cultural competence/humility training and be connected with local LGBTQ youth-serving organizations who will serve as resources in the future.

The training is facilitated by the Safe and Supported program from Lighthouse Youth and Family Services which offers an LGBTQ youth-centered approach. Areas of concentration include; relationship building, values clarification, school and family safety, sexual orientation education, gender identity, pronoun usage and other terminology. The summit also seeks to build relationships with partners for future advocacy and support.

The Summit is a collaborative effort between Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County, Lighthouse Youth and Family Services, Dayton Children's Hospital, PFLAG Dayton, Daybreak Dayton, and Miami University's Dennis L. Carlson Sexuality Education Studies Center.
