Winning Design to be Reproduced and Distributed in the Community

Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County is hosting a COVID-19 Youth Mask Design Contest for students, ages 10 to 17 who reside in Montgomery County. This free contest challenges students to use their creativity to design a COVID-19 face mask. The goal of the contest is to engage students in the fight against COVID and encourage residents to keep our community safe by wearing a mask. Public Health staff will judge the entries and the winning contestants in four age categories (10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-17), will be awarded a Chromebook. One design from among all entries will be chosen as the grand prize winner and will receive a Chromebook and a $100 gift card. The grand prize-winning design will be recreated by a graphic artist and reproduced and distributed in the community.

Montgomery County Health Commissioner, Jeff Cooper states, “Young people in our community have faced many challenges during the pandemic. This competition provides an exciting opportunity for students to display their creative talents and encourage our community to continue wearing face masks to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

To participate, contestants will access the official entry form found online at  and download a design template. Contestants can draw or paint directly on the template and scan or photograph their design for submission. Contestants can also create their design using computer software.
