Public Health would like to remind parents of the importance of getting their children vaccinated for COVID-19 to protect themselves and others.Recent data released by the Ohio Department of Health shows a statewide vaccination rate of 11% for children ages 5-11, with Montgomery County’s being 9%.“As we head into this holiday season, we urge parents to have their children vaccinated before attending large family gatherings,” said Dr. Michael Dohn, Medical Director, Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County. “To help reduce the number of cases and limit the number of hospitalizations and deaths it is important that everyone who is medically able to do so, be vaccinated, including eligible children.”

Public Health is expanding the number of appointment times available in is Public Health Clinic located in the Reibold Building in downtown Dayton. For available appointment dates and times visit www.phdmc.org.

In addition, vaccinations are available from Dayton Children’s Hospital and area pharmacies.
