The Tuberculosis (TB) Program controls the spread of TB in Montgomery County. We ensure all persons with active TB are completely treated, and we work with community partners to screen individuals who are at high risk for TB.

Screenings and Services:

  • TB skin tests are provided by appointment. To schedule an appointment for an evaluation of a positive result, contact the TB Clinic nurse during normal business hours.
  • Providers who need to report an active case of TB or who need information, contact the TB Outreach nurse or the TB Clinic nurse.
  • TB screening efforts are focused on high-risk individuals, including contacts to active TB cases, substance abusers, homeless persons, persons who test positive for HIV, persons in correctional facilities, and persons who come from countries with a high incidence of TB.
  • The TB Program serves as a resource for community-based health care providers seeking information on screening, diagnosing, and treating TB.
  • Refugee Health Screenings are provided through a grant agreement with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, under the Ohio Refugee Services Program.

Persons at high risk for TB:

  • Those from countries where TB is prevalent.
  • Those who are homeless.
  • Those who are substance abusers.
  • Those who live in congregate settings such as correctional facilities, residential treatment centers, or long-term care facilities.
  • Those who test positive for HIV.
